 POLARGUARD® 3D continuous filament polyester has the characteristic durability and warmth for which the POLARGUARD® name has become known. Unlike cut staple insulation, POLARGUARD® 3D insulation will not mat, clump or pull apart. This eliminates the chances of thin or cold spots developing in the insulation. The finer filament denier makes it softer and more compressible, with added warmth. Its high void triangular cross section prevents collapse after extended use. These features make POLARGUARD® 3D branded insulation particularly suited for use in apparel insulation.
PERFORMANCE
POLARGUARD® 3D continuous filament has superior insulating ability when wet. In an independent study of sleeping bags, comparing POLARGUARD® 3D, down, and a premium cut staple insulation, down lost the most insulation. In heated manikin testing of wet sleeping bags, POLARGUARD® 3D branded bags proved to be 12 percent warmer than cut staple, and 28 percent warmer than wet down. Sleeping bags and outerwear filled with POLARGUARD® batting keep you warm, even in wet conditions.
