DESCRIPTION. PRODUCT NO. 555 Blacktop Sealer is a high-quality rubberized blacktop filler and sealer designed for asphalt pavements such as parking lots. PRODUCT NO. 555 is enhanced with latex to improve performance and durability, and the No-Stir Gel Technology enables faster and easier application.

USES. PRODUCT NO. 555 renews the look of old worn driveways as well as other blacktop surfaces.

SURFACE PREPARATION. Newly paved asphalt surfaces like parking lots must be allowed to cure for a minimum of six months, or a full summer’s season, before any sealer is applied. Driveways must be cleaned with a spray on cleaner and degreaser before sealcoating. For oil stains, apply a spray on cleaner or degreaser liberally and scrub into surface to penetrate oil spots. This step promotes proper bonding and will also help prevent adhesion failures. Repair cracks and holes with PRODUCT NO. 210-D for longest lasting results. (All repaired areas must be allowed to cure; see product instructions for curing times).

APPLICATION. Temperatures must be at least 65°F and rising, but below 90°F for application. Do not apply if rain or cold temperatures are expected within 36 hours. A small amount of water separation in the pail may occur, so mix as needed. After driveway is rinsed thoroughly, apply sealer to the the damp pavement with a brush or squeegee, allowing the sealer to penetrate the surface. Working in a small area at a time, apply a thin coat, brushing away any excess as you seal. Use a cross pattern of application to make sure that all voids are filled and sealed. You should also complete the entire driveway in one continuous application to prevent “color shading.” It is recommended that you use two thin coats. Thick coats will result in uneven coverage, cracking and drying problems.

Driveway must cure for about 2-4 hours for foot traffic and 24-48 hours for vehicle traffic. However, humid or cloudy conditions may prolong the curing time. Apply second coat at right angles to the first coat after the first coat has cured (approx. 3-6 hours). When possible match batch codes on lids when using multiple containers. The approximate coverage for driveways in average condition is 350 sq.ft./5 gallons. This sealer is not recommended or warrantied for use on surfaces which contain a slope greater than 20 degrees.

CLEAN-UP. While wet, clean tools with warm water and soap. If dry, then scrub with citrus based cleaner.
